ABOUT TOP SHELL FARM
Top Shell Oyster Farm started in 2020 with a goal to make a positive change in the ocean. Located just over 1 mile off the coast of Martha's Vineyard, our farm is exposed to all of the extremes of the open ocean.
We're determined to grow the best oysters possible using the tools nature has given us. The only rocky bottom Edgartown oyster, try them now at island restaurants!

Farm Location
We are the first oyster farm in Edgartown to grow our oysters exclusively in the open ocean. Our 2 acre farm is located one mile from the closest point onshore, where the flushing tides of Katama Bay meet the Nantucket Sound.

Our Boat "Oyster Catcher"
Also known as "Oystah Catchah", our trusty boat was designed to handle all the open ocean throws our way. She was previously used to recover undetonated explosives, and now she's retired to the good life where we use her to haul cages and sort oysters.
Starting the Farm
In 2020 when we got approved for our lease the expenses quickly started adding up. We launched a Kickstarter to get people involved with the farm. Their support early on helped us get started, and we've almost gotten all 88 backers their oysters! Check out the video that we made to raise awareness about our farm!
